General Dynamics C4 Systems Deploys Ceragon's Secure Wireless Solution for the US Air Force in $7 Million Contract
Ceragon is First to Provide a FIPS Approved Solution With Built in AES (Advanced Encryption Standard)
TEL AVIV, Israel, January 10/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRNT; TASE: CRNT), www.ceragon.com, a leading provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, today announced that General Dynamics C4 Systems has ordered Ceragon's FibeAir 1500P Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) modules to protect voice and data transmitted across wireless broadband networks. The information security modules will be integrated into General Dynamics' Theater Deployable Communication and ReadySet communication systems used by the U.S. military and government agencies. Deliveries for this contract, valued at $7M, began in 2006 and will be completed during the second quarter of 2007.
Ceragon is the first to provide a licensed, Point-to-Point, native IP wireless connectivity solution with TDM capabilities and built-in AES encryption that is FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) compliant.
"This contract with General Dynamics for the U.S. Air Force is an important validation of Ceragons' technology and leadership in secure wireless communication," said Ira Palti, President and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. "Ceragon is ideally positioned to capitalize on the major opportunities
presented by the growing defense market"
Ceragon's FibeAir 1500P-AES has been certified as FIPS140-2 compliant by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and meets national security requirements for cryptographic modules. This level of cryptographic protection is necessary to maintain the security, confidentiality and integrity of the information being transmitted across the U.S. Department of Defense's wireless networks.
By combining a FIPS-compliant AES encryption and multiplexing into a single platform, Ceragon's FibeAir 1500P-AES eliminates the need for a multibox solution. This configuration reduces costs and space, while improving reliability and capacity over the Air Forces' previous solution.
Ceragon's solution is ideal for a range of industries, including financial institutions, healthcare local/state and federal government and military applications. FibeAir 1500P-AES is available in worldwide licensed frequency bands from 6 to 39GHz.
