RADWIN to Showcase Compelling Wireless Broadband Offering at 3GSM World
Congress, Feb. 12-15, Booth #2E07
RADWIN (www.radwin.com), a leading provider of advanced wireless broadband solutions, marks a string of successes at the upcoming 3GSM World Congress with recent significant cellular backhauling project wins. RADWIN will showcase its carrier-class, competitively priced solutions for cellular
carriers at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 12-15, 2007, Booth 2E07.
"RADWIN is the pioneer in bringing to market license-exempt cellular backhauling solutions that meet carriers' stringent performance requirements," said Sharon Sher, RADWIN's President and CEO. "Backhauling is a major challenge for carriers who want to expand their networks with maximum speed and minimum costs. Our license-exempt systems incorporate the most advanced technologies, allowing carriers to provide cellular backhauling with carrier-class reliability at the most competitive price. To date the RADWIN WinLink(TM) 1000 systems have been deployed by fixed and mobile carriers in more than 70 countries, attesting to the unique value that they deliver."
RADWIN's recent cellular backhauling deployments include:
3G Carrier, South East Asia - The pure-3G operator wanted to expand service coverage in the metro, suburban and rural areas. The high cost of microwave equipment and radio licenses drove the operator to select RADWIN's license-exempt systems. RADWIN's WinLink(TM) 1000 speed and ease of deployment allowed the operator to achieve fast time to market and gain market share. More than 100 WinLink(TM) 1000 systems have already been deployed, and the forecast is hundreds of additional deployments in 2007 alone.
Pan-African Operator - Challenged with expanding its network to rural areas where the average revenue per user (ARPU) is typically very low, the operator required an affordable, highly reliable backhauling solution and chose RADWIN's WinLink(TM) 1000 systems.
National Operator in North America - The operator needed to rapidly extend its network to answer customer demand and capture market share, but the costs and bureaucratic hassles involved in leasing lines was a major obstacle to fast network rollout. The operator chose RADWIN's license-exempt
systems as an intermediate backhauling solution in order to expand its network coverage quickly. In many cases the operator left RADWIN's systems up and running even after the leased lines infrastructure was established for backup backhauling.
Cellular Carrier, Asia - The need to migrate from a 2G to a 3G network required this carrier to install additional base stations and enhance backhauling capacity to each base station location. Leasing lines was an expensive option, so the operator turned to RADWIN's license-exempt systems because they enabled it to drive down costs, and because of the systems' ability to operate flawlessly in crowded urban environments and NLOS conditions.
Pan-Latin American Operator, Latin America - The need to extend service coverage in all areas, including low ARPU locations, propelled the operator to search for an affordable, carrier-class solution that would justify the business case. After a thorough evaluation process the operator
chose RADWIN's license-exempt systems as its solution of choice for deployment in numerous countries where it operates.
