PART-15.ORG brings the largest conference devoted specifically to the issues facing Wireless ISPs (WISPs) to New Orleans to emphasize the role of Internet communications as a key part of comprehensive disaster response.
Aurora, Illinois, USA - February 14, 2007. Next week, PART-15.ORG, an industry association focused on Internet Service Providers that use wireless technology to provide high-speed Internet service, will commence WISPCON 2007 in New Orleans, Louisiana, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in August, 2005. "Wireless ISPs played an important role in restoring communications in the weeks after Katrina hit, and we want to help WISPs understand more about being prepared for disaster communications in their own communities" states Michael Anderson, Chairman of PART-15.ORG.
WISPCON 2007 will be held February 21-23, 2007, with pre-conference activities on February 20 that include a bus tour to provide attendees from out of the area a first-hand look at Katrina's devastation two years later. For WISPCON 2007, being held at the Astor Hotel in New Orleans, PART-15.ORG has convened a focused program of educational sessions that directly address the interests and needs of Wireless ISPs.
